History DTZ Zadelhoff

Zadelhoff Makelaars was founded in 1968 by drs. Cor van Zadelhoff. Based on the increasing interest of investors in commercial property at the end of the sixties, Van Zadelhoff decided to become the first estate agent in the Netherlands to specialize in intermediary services and advice in this area. And with success. After the first office opened in Amsterdam, branches soon followed in The Hague and Utrecht, and DTZ Zadelhoff now has fourteen branches distributed across the nation.

In the nineties, ‘Zadelhoff Makelaars’ was one of the founders of the current international DTZ organization (in full: Debenham, Thouard, Zadelhoff). This collaboration has meanwhile developed into a worldwide organization employing over 10,000 staff in 148 cities in 43 countries. This cross-border cooperation led to the change of name from ‘Zadelhoff Makelaars’ to ‘DTZ Zadelhoff’ in 1993.

In 2009, DTZ Zadelhoff is a commercial partnership in the Netherlands, in which twenty-two partners participate through private limited companies. One of the partners is DTZ Holdings plc., listed on the London Stock Exchange since 1987.
The partners jointly form the General Management of the company. An Executive Board is elected every three years from these partners.

At present, the Executive Board of DTZ Zadelhoff is composed of:

  • Cuno van Steenhoven, Chairman of the board
  • Jeroen de Bruijn, Member of the board
  • Frans van Hoeken, Member of the board
  • Meint Feenstra, Chief Operations Officer

Cor van Zadelhoff is still strongly involved in the company as an advisor. His experience is used regularly by the new generations of estate agents within DTZ Zadelhoff, and he acts as host during one of our events.
